So many holiday events are happening this weekend that you will have put your running shoes on to keep up with all of them! One of my favorite Charleston Christmas traditions is the 29th Annual Parade of Boats on December 5th. Put on by the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs, the parade transforms the Charleston waterfront into a floating North pole, complete with amazingly creative floats. The boats line up on the Mt. Pleasant side of the Cooper River at 5:00 pm and make their way in front the Battery before turning up the Ashley River. The best vantage point is along the Battery but get there early to stake out a spot. The parade ends with a spectacular fireworks display over Charleston Harbor. www.charlestoncity.info
